who’s marrying you?
HI. I'M FRANKIE.
I'm an independent registered celebrant, wedding hype gal and the woman behind The Registry Office.
I've been marrying people for years, and I've come to realise that not everyone wants a WEDDING™.
Sometimes you just want to put on something fucking fabulous, bring your favourite people, stand somewhere gorgeous and get legally married.
No fuss. No performance. No stress. No bullshit.
Just a really fucking good ceremony, with someone who knows exactly what she's doing.
That's me. Hi.
Frankie Orange — Celebrant & Founder of The Registry Office
the boring bits.
Because even sexy weddings have paperwork.
-
Nope.
The Registry Office is a registry-style wedding experience, created by Frankie Orange and held at The Convent Hotel in Auckland.
Think City Hall vibes, but considerably hotter.
You’re legally married by an independent registered celebrant, following all the legal requirements for getting married in New Zealand.
-
Nope! The Convent Hotel is a working hotel, bar and venue, so your ceremony takes place within the hotel alongside other guests and visitors. You are booking your ceremony time — not exclusive use of the hotel.
And honestly? That's part of the charm. Have your ceremony, grab a drink, book lunch, take some gorgeous photos and carry on with your day. BING BANG BOOM!
-
The $550 gets you:
The Convent Hotel as your wedding venue + Frankie Orange as your celebrant + your Registry Office ceremony.
You, your lover and up to 10 of your favourite people can come along, you get legally married and then go do whatever the fuck you want afterwards.
The NZ marriage licence is separate and paid directly to the government.
-
No — and that's kind of the point.
The Registry Office has a set ceremony. It's short, modern, romantic and gets the legal stuff done without turning it into a 45-minute TED Talk about your childhood.
Want to say your own vows? Absolutely.
Want to keep it simple? Also absolutely.
-
Nope.
There are no meetings, consultations, rehearsals or months of emails.
You book your date, sort your marriage licence, answer the very short questionnaire, and show up ready to get married.
-
You can bring up to 10 guests.
Bring your favourite people. Your ride-or-dies. Your mum. Your mates. Your weird cousin.
Just keep it to 10.
-
Thursdays at The Convent Hotel.
Bookings are by appointment only, so you won't find Frankie hanging around the venue waiting for someone to wander in and spontaneously get married.
Choose your date and time, book it, and we'll see you there.
-
You organise this yourselves through the New Zealand Government.
It’s a very simple online form and costs $158NZD, separate from your $550 Registry Office booking, and is paid directly to the government. It takes 3 working days to process your application. The licence expires after 3 months.Once you've got it sorted, bring it with you on the day. Without this, you can’t get married.
-
Absolutely. The Convent charges a $180 photography fee, paid directly to them.
-
No.
And that’s the whole point.
The Convent is already fucking gorgeous.Come dressed up. Come in jeans. Bring flowers if you want them. Don't if you don't.
There is no styling package, no Pinterest board and absolutely no requirement to turn the place into a wedding venue.
-
Then The Registry Office probably isn't for you — and that's okay!
If you want a personalised ceremony, storytelling, readings, rituals, rehearsals, meetings and all the beautiful extra stuff that comes with a full wedding ceremony, Frankie Orange Celebrant is your girl.
The Registry Office is for when you just want to get fucking married.
-
Because you're not buying a giant wedding package.
You're booking a fucking cool place to get married.
That's it.
No florals. No cake. No drinks or food. No photographer. No 87-page questionnaire.
Just you, your lover, your licence, your people and Frankie. Easy Peasy.
let’s make
this shit
legit.
You don't need a wedding planner.
You don't need a Pinterest board.
You don't need twelve months.
You just need your lover,
your licence,
your people...
and a Thursday.
